Dreamweaver
While there are a variety of tools to use in creating webpages, the majority of campus users take advantage of the features in Adobe’s Dreamweaver.
Dreamweaver Tips
- Check for error messages from the Dreamweaver Error Check (small menu - top right of the page)
- Check page load size and time at the bottom of the Dreamweaver page - should be under 10 seconds for 56 K modem
- View pages in Split view - to track errors in HTML
- Check for empty tags (ones with no text in between them ex: <p></p>)
- When copying and pasting from Word files, check paragraphs in the source code to make sure extra <br /> tags or symbols haven't been added.
