Western Illinois University Arista Chapter

Criteria For Selection

Scholarship

Second-semester Juniors and Seniors with at least one more semester with a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher are considered for membership to the Arista chapter of Mortar Board. Membership within Mortar Board is one of the highest academic distinctions on campus.

Leadership

As part of the application process, potential members are chosen based on the leadership abilities they have exhibited as officers and/or members within other campus organizations, as well as those gained through service activities.

Service

An important aspect of Mortar Board, service to the community and campus, is a key to membership. In addition, a willingness to help promote the ideas of Mortar Board and help with the national project, "Reading is Leading," is expected.
