Fallen Soldiers 5k Run/Walk and
WIU Leathernecks Veterans Day Celebration!

Join Western Illinois University as we show our appreciation to veterans and current service members for their service to our country!

The celebration kicks off Saturday, November 10 with the inaugural Fallen Soldiers 5k Run/Walk. Then, you are invited as President Thomas’ guest to the tent north of Hanson Field for a pre-game social as we recognize all current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces, followed by your WIU Fighting Leathernecks vs. Youngstown State!

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Fallen Soldiers Scholarship Fund, established to honor the memories of Capt. Derek A. Dobogai, a 2003 graduate in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration and Lt. Col. Robert E. Baldwin, a 1993 graduate in Industrial Technology.  Both men lost their lives fighting for our country.
The Fund will support veterans and service members currently enrolled at WIU.
