Study Abroad News: WISE Spain in Spring 2013

In Spring 2013, the Western Illinois Spanish Experience (WISE) program will lead a study abroad experience in Spain. This program, carried out several times in past years, gives students a semester-long immersion in Spanish language and culture along with on-site guidance and mentoring by a WIU faculty member. The program also includes excursions and tours that allow students to explore several historical and cultural treasures of Spain.

WISE Spain is conducted in cooperation with the Colegio de España in Salamanca and Universitat Jaume I in Castellón. Students will spend February and March 2013 in Salamanca, the site of the first university founded in Spain and a city that is traditionally college student-oriented. In April, the group will move to Castellón on the Mediterranean Coast to experience a modern campus, one of the most technologically and academically advanced in Spain. This program is a great example of WIU students taking advantage of international opportunities and expanding their worldview!
