International Education Week
Western Illinois University will be celebrating International Education Week 2012 from November 3-16. This program involves a series of events designed to recognize international education and exchange worldwide and promote its benefits. Nationally, this program is implemented jointly by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education and will be celebrated from November 12-16, 2012. WIU chooses to extend this program to offer more events and activities to the campus and community.
This year’s International Education Week celebration at WIU will include a variety of cultural events and activities. There will be several film showings and discussions, a soccer tournament, opportunities to learn about the benefits and importance of study abroad programs, conversations regarding multiculturalism, and events celebrating international cultures - including their food, dress, traditions, and more!

Phi Beta Delta Scholarship Fundraiser Nov. 3
Western Illinois University's Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society chapter will hold a scholarship fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Macomb American Legion, 221 E. Washington St.
The event will include a Mediterranean meal, live music and a silent auction. A cash bar will be available for those ages 21 and older. All proceeds go to scholarships supporting international education.
