Graduate-level Certificates in Business Available

Did you know that WIU offers two graduate-level certificates in business? Both certificates can be completed entirely online and the classes can also be applied to the MBA program at WIU if you choose to pursue that degree program.  The two new certificates are:

  • The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Business Administration (12 semester hours). The business certificate program requires four specific courses, and all four of the certificate courses can be taken online, in Macomb or at the QC Riverfront campus. All of the courses in this certificate can be applied to the MBA program, so someone completing the certificate is over 1/3 of the way to earning an MBA degree.
  • The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Supply Chain Management (12 semester hours). The SCM certificate requires two specific SCM courses and choices of electives for the remaining two courses. Just like the business certificate, the SCM certificate can be completed online, in Macomb or at the Riverfront Campus in Moline, and courses can be applied towards the WIU MBA degree.

A full list of the electives and admission requirements for each certificate can be found at:

A GMAT score is not required for admission into either of the certificate programs; however, students who wish to continue on to the MBA program will still need to meet MBA admission criteria, which is typically based on GPA and a GMAT score.

Spring classes begin in mid-January, so now is a great time to apply and get registered, as space is limited. Apply for admission online
or contact the WIU School of Graduate Studies at 1-877-WIU-GRAD. For more information about the certificates, contact Dr. John Drea, Associate Dean at 309-298-2442 or at
