Alumni House Grounds Renovation Project Launches

The Western Illinois University Alumni Association is pleased to announce The Alumni Legacy Project. Kicked off last December by the Alumni Council, the project will support renovations to the Alumni House Grounds.

“The Alumni Legacy Project was initiated by members of the Alumni Council in an effort to upgrade the existing landscaping at the Alumni House,” said Roger Clawson, past president of the Alumni Council. “We hope other alumni of this great University will join us in our effort to raise funds for this campus beautification project. When I return to campus, I always feel like I am coming home – we want other WIU alumni to return and see what a beautiful place it truly is.”

The Alumni Council is made up of 25 alumni and the president of Student Alumni Association who represent the interests of Western’s now more than 115,000 member Alumni Association. Watch future issues of the Western News, RockeNews and your email inbox for more details coming soon! Read more.

WIU Marketing Out Front and Center

youtube

Billboards, commercials and ads ... oh my! University Marketing, under the direction of the Office of the Vice President for Advancement and Public Services, continues its work to keep Western out front and center across the state. A new 30-second commercial/promo, written and produced by University Relations, is currently airing during prime time shows on WGEM, Quincy (IL) NBC affiliate, and in theatres in Peoria, Bloomington, Warrenville, Lincolnshire, Lombard Springfield and Quincy. Ads were also placed in the Chicago Daily Herald and the Quincy Herald Whig, Peoria Journal Star and Springfield State Journal Register to congratulate WIU's first-ever Rhodes Scholar finalist. University Marketing and University Relations also heavily promoted the WIU vs. EIU rivalry weekend game Dec. 10 through a series of newspaper ads in the McDonough County Voice and the Western Courier.
