WIU Libraries 2012 Cookbook Now Available
If you're looking for a gift for that hard-to-buy-for person, then look no further. Just in time for the holiday season, Western Illinois University Libraries has published the "Western Illinois University Libraries Cookbook 2012."
Featuring more than 100 recipes from faculty and staff members of the Libraries' branches, past and present, the cookbook includes a combination of simple and elegant dishes from many different cuisines. Each copy is available for $10.
All proceeds from the cookbook's sales will benefit the Library Atrium Society Fund, which provides support for miscellaneous operation expenses, as well as books and equipment.
Cookbooks can be purchased on the WIU-Macomb campus at the Leslie F. Malpass Library Administration Office (third floor) between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and at the WIU-Quad Cities Library-Riverfront Campus (3501 60th St., Moline, IL) between 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Cookbooks can also be shipped for an additional shipping and handling fee.
For more information, contact the Western Illinois University Libraries Administration Office at (309) 298-2762.
Malpass Mini-Golf a Success
The first Malpass Mini-Golf fundraiser was held on Saturday, November 03, 2012 in the Leslie F. Malpass Library.
"We had a great time," says Michael Jones M.S. ‘12, Director of Development for University Libraries. "Nearly 200 people played our 12-hole miniature golf course inside Malpass Library, and we raised over $2,000 for the Library Atrium Fund, thanks in large part to our community sponsors."
The holes were dispersed throughout the building, where faculty, staff, and students were on hand to talk about library services and offer any assistance. “I was really pleased to have so many students on hand to help with the event,” said Adam Frankhauser ‘06, event co-coordinator. “It was really fun to see so many families, WIU students, faculty and staff come out and play.”
