Centennial Honors College
Public Lecture
The Centennial Honors College co-sponsored a public lecture by Dr. Pradeep Dubey, entitled “Game Theory, Economics, and Matching Donors and Recipients of Organs,” in the Multicultural Center on March 18. Dr. Dubey earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University and is Professor of Economics at the University of New York at Stony Brook. Nearly one hundred students and faculty attended this informative presentation.
Undergraduate Research Day
The Centennial Honors College will host the annual Thomas E. Helm Undergraduate Research Day on April 16, 2014. Performance presentations will be in the Prairie Lounge from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Poster presentations will be displayed in the Grand Ballroom from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. And Podium presentations will take place at various locations in the Union from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Finally, at 3:30 PM, Ms. Anne Millen will deliver the Keynote.
Speech and Awards will be presented in the Prairie Lounge. The Undergraduate Research Day provides a public, university-wide forum for undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to submit their faculty mentored research, scholarship, or creative activity. Submissions may be either completed or in-progress.
Scholarship Event
The Centennial Honors College will host The Scholarship Extravaganza on Friday, April 25 at the American Legion, 221 East Washington Street, from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The public is invited to dance to the music by the Endnote, participate in a silent auction, and enjoy good food and favorite beverages. Admission is $10 and all proceeds go to the Centennial Honors College’s Scholarship Fund. Please join in the fun and support a worthy cause.
