Stage Combat Workshops This Summer at WIU

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University will be home for two stage combat workshops this summer; one for actors, and one for student teachers.

The event for actors, the Central Illinois Stage Combat Workshop at WIU, will be held May 15-June 2, and is for actors of all experience levels. This workshop includes 30 hours of knife training and 30 hours of quarterstaff.

The event for student teachers, the Central Illinois Stage Combat Workshop Teacher Training, will be held May 15-26 on the WIU campus. This workshop runs concurrently with the first two weeks of the actors' workshop.

The CISCO program is coordinated by WIU Theatre and Dance Professor DC Wright, who is recognized as a master instructor by Dueling Arts International, as well as a certified teacher of stage combat, and a certified firearms instructor with the SAFD.

The workshops are sanctioned by The Society of American Fight Directors
